Kate’s litigation practice focuses on capital markets and the securities industry. She regularly represents clients in both civil litigation matters, and in investigations and proceedings brought by the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) and the Mutual Fund Dealers Association (MFDA).
Kate has been involved in a wide range of civil, criminal and regulatory litigation including complex corporate/commercial, class action, bankruptcy, professional discipline, employment, fraud, intellectual property and defamation issues.
Kate has appeared before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice and the Supreme Court of British Columbia, as well as arbitration panels, and administrative and regulatory tribunals and boards including the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, and the Ontario Municipal Board.
